Thessaloniki? Check! Athens? Check! Rotterdam? Triple check! Since 2015, Gidiki is on a succesful conquest with their experimental Greek folk music. The past two years, they blew us away with magnificent shows at GROUNDS and now they are coming back to smoothly repeat those great nights!

A fundamental element of the band is the inclination for improvisation, which arises from the different musical influences of its members. Each live performance serves as an opportunity for experimentation with traditional musical forms and rhythms, as well as for establishing a dynamic relationship with the audience, creating the conditions for a contemporary “urban celebration.” Thus, the sound that emerges is constantly shaped and evolving while maintaining the identity and sounds of traditional instruments. The result is an overwhelming and unique experience, as no show is the same as the last.

In 2023, Gidiki released their first album Ahoy, followed up by Perasma (2024) and Planinata (2025). After shows at all major festivals in Greece and several tours in Europe (Germany, France, Belgium and the UK), they are now coming back to GROUNDS to let us enjoy their Greek folk with a twist.
