Fabulous Insects - WFFR Lokaal

Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam (WFFR) annually shows the most beautiful and impactful films about nature from home and abroad. With the special program WFFR Lokaal, a selection of films is shown at 21 special locations, spread throughout Rotterdam. In addition, extra activities are organized around the film at many of our local locations. In this way, we bring nature closer to everyone!

The Fabulous Insects – Beetles takes you on a stunning journey through the world of beetles — from the rainforests of South America to your own backyard in Europe. With breathtaking macro slow-motion and time-lapse footage, the film reveals their unexpected beauty, variety and ecological value. From glittering minis to eight-inch giants, beetles come in all shapes and colours. They are essential as pollinators, cleaners and food sources. With over 300,000 known species, beetles make up a quarter of all animals on Earth. But why are they so colourful, diverse and wonderful? This film provides the surprising answer.
