Fabian Franciscus - Is Het Leven Al Begonnen?

For when you don't know how to do it. This show is for all those people.

The alpha males beat their chests. The language of war hangs in the air. The law of the jungle prevails: survival of the fittest. Are we as humans ultimately nothing more than chimpanzees with machine guns and drones, or is there still hope somewhere?

In the midst of this machinery of power, Flip Noorman searches for the marginalized sister of humans and chimpanzees: the bonobo. The 'make-love-not-war-hippie-ape' where women are in power and conflicts are resolved with sex.

In a new theatrical concert, Flip Noorman, assisted by the Normans and Norman woman, confronts the cultural myths of the law of the strongest and constructs a world where human nature is portrayed as empathetic and peaceful. Perhaps against his better judgment.

In passing, an ode to the now deceased American-Dutch primatologist Frans de Waal, naturally Jane Goodall, and Flip's own mother, the matriarch of a family full of men who recently passed away after a chronic illness of 35 years. A program fighting a losing battle, at the height of the zeitgeist, a series of songs that will only solidify Noorman's place on the cultural pecking order. For yes, isn't that ultimately the only thing he is after?
