Ellen ten Damme - Medusa try-out
From sassy feminist singles to ancient Greek chanting.
Ellen ten Damme takes over the theatre this autumn with her new show Medusa (try-out). With brand-new, self-composed songs, including the bold and feminist single Rare Dingen, and repertoire from previous albums, she serves up an intimate, energetic performance full of movement and musicality.
With lyrics in Dutch, but also ancient Greek (no one speaks it anymore, but Ellen is going to sing it), English, German, and French, she flirts with the audience and breaks the rules. During the tryouts, Ellen ten Damme explores the meaning of Medusa together with pianist Thijs Cuppen. Is her role holy or pagan, sexy or divine, sweet or tough?
