Draagkracht Cheroney Pelupessy | Keturunan

Draagkracht is about women from Indonesia, the Moluccas, and the former Dutch East Indies who are not in the history books. Their stories have been omitted from these books and from education for years, even though they were indispensable during times of war, colonization, and resistance. They received no statue, no titles. Yet they cared for their families and risked their lives for a world that did not recognize them. Still, something of them has been passed on to the new generations.

In this performance, choreographer Cheroney Pelupessy gives them space, without detours. Through dance, she tells what words cannot say.
