Doei Buitenwereld! - Peter van Rooijen (try-out) ^try-out

Peter van Rooijen made a splash in recent years with his Love, Death & trilogy, which he concluded with a Best of program. Now he is back, again with great songs, but he is trying out without a band. He is going solo with all the instruments he can (more or less) play. In the run-up to his sixth full-length show Doei buitenwereld! Van Rooijen is starting a series of try-outs in which he tries out and develops new songs and new forms.

In Doei buitenwereld! Van Rooijen states that many people have all sorts of opinions about all sorts of things (the climate, politicians, racial issues, supermarket employees, you name it) but that they do not actually understand what they think. We are often too stupid to understand what we feel and where those feelings come from. Stop pointing fingers at others, anyone can do that. It is time for a deep dive inward! Navel-gazing for experts. As deep as it can go. We will find more ugliness and more beauty there than we expect. Peter sets a good example and descends completely into himself. On to the core.
