Día de Muertos
On Sunday afternoon, November 1st, OASE and Stichting Perron are organising a Día de Muertos celebration, where music, food, rituals, and community spirit come together.
The programme includes a two-course lunch, live music by La Fandanguera, workshops and a traditional altar, where you can learn more about the traditions surrounding Día de Muertos and participate yourself. A programme for all ages. With La Fandanguera. About Día de Muertos Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a day of remembrance and joy in Mexico. An evening on which the deceased are honoured with food, music, stories and colour. It is a moment to honour the deceased by welcoming their memory back through food, flowers, music and shared stories. The altar (ofrenda) forms the centre of all this, filled with photos, candles and offerings that keep the bonds between generations alive. It resembles other traditions worldwide where ancestors are honoured, and it reminds us that those we have lost are still dancing with us, just on a different frequency. Food Mextiza OASE's Kantine La Fandanguera consists of: César Puente - double bass Diego Cerroblanco - requinto and jarana Omar Medina - requinto and jarana Workshop & other Tante Maria Sunday film club (all ages) Ofrenda
