Dancing Contours RIDCC Brings Back: Dereck Cayla

RIDCC not only offers a stage to new choreographic talent, but also to former participants who have developed strongly in recent years. With RIDCC Brings Back, the festival welcomes makers with whom a special artistic bond has developed. Four years after his participation, Dereck Cayla returns to RIDCC with his installation Dancing Contours.

Step into Dancing Contours, a remarkable installation in which the body transcends its own boundaries. With layered drawings and video projections, life-size portraits come to life and blur the lines between self and image, between presence and absence. This poetic exploration of movement and identity invites you to reflect on how we perceive ourselves, and what might lie beneath.

As a special program of the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC), Dancing Contours transforms the foyer of Theater Rotterdam into a living, breathing canvas. Wander through this enchanting space and experience the fluid encounter between dance, visual arts and technology.
