Concert: Erdem Pancarcı

It forms a living tradition in which folk poetry, mysticism and social experiences come together. In this project, Pancarcı combines traditional instruments such as the bağlama and the tembûr with a contemporary sound idiom in which jazz, improvisation and influences from various world music traditions are subtly interwoven. The songs tell of love, longing, justice and spiritual devotion – themes that have characterised the Âşık-cultuur for centuries and are still particularly relevant today. Mythos of Âşık is not a folkloristic reconstruction, but an artistic exploration of a tradition that has retained its meaning throughout the centuries. The album unfolds as a musical mosaic: rooted in tradition, but without nostalgia; deeply connected to its origins and at the same time open to new artistic perspectives.
