Concert Ali Doğan Gönültaş

Kurdish roots, boundless sounds

Ali Doğan Gönültaş brings the music and stories from his native region in Eastern Anatolia to the stage. The Kurdish singer and musician grew up in a family where music was a way to pass on memories and history. With his intense voice and personal interpretations, he gives that tradition a contemporary sound. For his first solo album Kiğı, he collected stories and melodies for fifteen years, including through conversations with the elderly. In this way, he gives space to the languages and cultures of his region, including Kurdish and Armenian. His music leads along memories, longing, and the meaning of home. At de Lugt, Gönültaş will perform with Emrah Oğuztürk on woodwinds and Ali Kutlutürk on percussion. Together, they present a program in which traditional melodies and original compositions come together. Vocals, wind instruments, and rhythm make space for both stillness and exuberance: a concert that invites you to listen, feel, and move along.
