Collegium Vocale Gent Bachs Hohe Messe
Bach's Mass in B Minor
Collegium Vocale Gent and conductor Philippe Herreweghe perform Bachs Hohe Messe, one of the most impressive and versatile works in the choral repertoire. In it, Bach combined various styles and compositions into a grand whole, in which subdued prayer and exuberant praise alternate. With its characteristic clarity and attention to text and balance, Collegium Vocale Gent lets this music speak with a rare transparency, carried by soloists and choir who make the spiritual and musical richness of this masterpiece palpable.
