Two heroic tales about the fight with fate.
Beethoven's Fifth Piano Concerto is a heroic epic in which the soloist throws himself into the battle with lionhearted courage. In that hero, we recognize the composer himself. He went deaf, yet continued to compose, thus overcame his fate, and became a shining example for the generations after him. For Tchaikovsky, too. 'In essence, my symphony is an imitation of Beethoven,' he said of his heroic Fourth. Imitation? You could safely call it the superlative.
Rotterdam Coffee Fest celebrates Rotterdam’s coffee culture
Rotterdam Coffee Fest returns from 5 to 8 November for its second edition. It will feature a more extensive programme, *De Doelen* as a new venue, and four days of coffee culture across Rotterdam.
