In this evocative concert, music becomes a vessel for memory, voice, and the passage of time — told through the works of Henry Purcell and Antonio Vivaldi, two composers who helped shape the Baroque era!
In this evocative concert, music becomes a vessel for memory, voice, and the passage of time — told through the works of Henry Purcell and Antonio Vivaldi, two composers who helped shape the Baroque era. Structured in two atmospheric chapters, the performance traces a journey from the personal story of Mary II Stuart, Queen of England and daughter of William of Orange, to the rise of the Netherlands as a cultural power on the world stage.
Through original voice-over narration in the voice of Her Majesty (narrated by acclaimed Dutch actress and singer Karin Bloemen), alongside period instruments and a stunning multicoloured vocal performance by Elim van Delft, supported by the Belgian orchestra La Chapelle Sauvage under the direction of Karel de Wilde, the past is brought vividly into the present.
