Augustin Dumay sterviolist speelt Schumann en Brahms

Augustin Dumay is considered one of the greatest violinists of his generation. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he obtained the Premier Prix at the age of thirteen. His international breakthrough followed a chance meeting with Herbert von Karajan, who immediately invited him to perform with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Since then, he has worked with the most important orchestras in the world and built an impressive discography with labels such as Deutsche Grammophon and EMI, awarded with numerous international prizes.

With his warm tone and refined phrasing, he and pianist Stéphane De May present a recital featuring Schumann and Brahms. Schumann’s Fantasiestücke has an intimate and poetic character, while Brahms’ Tweede vioolsonate offers space for lyricism and interplay between equal partners. Two romantic voices, interpreted with depth and musical conviction.
