ARTHA IRC / Illusionary Rockaz Company
What gives a movement meaning? In ARTHA, choreographer Shailesh Bahoran and six dancers explore what lies behind form and technique. A personal and energetic performance in which dance tells the story.
ARTHA is a new dance performance by choreographer Shailesh Bahoran and IRC / Illusionary Rockaz Company. The title comes from the Sanskrit word artha, which means meaning, sense or intention.
In this performance, six dancers explore what truly gives a movement power. It is not the technique or the form that is central, but the intention behind it. What do you want to say with a movement? And how do you convey a feeling or story without words?
The dancers are on stage not only as performers, but also as creators. Their personal experiences, ideas and questions form the basis of the performance. This creates a unique mix of stories, movement and expression.
With ARTHA, Shailesh Bahoran shows how dance can connect, inspire and give meaning. An impressive performance in which the creative process becomes visible and in which the human behind the movement is central.
