During the corona pandemic, composer Ruud Voesten delved into Dante's Inferno. The nine circles of hell - from anger to betrayal - formed the starting point for a raw and penetrating jazz album.
Together with his band Ambrosia he translated the sins into sound: rhythmically layered, emotionally open and imbued with personal reflection.
After the success of Inferno, Ambrosia is now working on the sequel: a new album inspired by Purgatorio, the second part of Dante's Divine Comedy. They take the audience on a musical climb through guilt, purification and hope - with jazz, electronics and improvisation as a guide. A musical journey from darkness to light.
