For the 22nd edition of the Afrovibes Festival, Oulouy comes to Fenix: dancer, choreographer, and founder of the street dance festival Oyofe.
During Afrovibes, Oulouy invites you to feel the energy of street dance yourself in a workshop, and in his performance Black he shows how dance can tell stories of freedom, recognition, and respect.
Programme
11:30 PM – 1:00 PM | Workshop with Oulouy
Discover influential street dance styles from across the African continent, including Afrohouse, Ndombolo, Coupé Décalé, Amapiano, and Afro fusion. Everyone is invited to dance together, whether you’re a beginner or experienced.
3:00 PM – 3:45 PM | Performance Black
Black is a dance performance in which Oulouy makes the struggle for freedom, equality, and respect visible. Using street dance styles from Africa and the diaspora - from Coupé Décalé and Azonto to Krump and Afrohouse - he tells the history of the Black liberation movement. The performance references events such as decolonization and the Black Lives Matter movement.
