Academy of St Martin in the Fields met Lucas en Arthur Jussen
with Lucas and Arthur Jussen
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields will perform two of Beethoven's most characterful piano concertos together with piano duo Lucas en Arthur Jussen. The Tweede pianoconcert reveals a young Beethoven, playful and energetic, with a clear nod to the classical tradition. In the Vijfde pianoconcert, the ‘keizerconcert’, we hear a composer who stretches the boundaries of the genre with grandeur, freedom and power. In this combination, youthful flair and monumental expressiveness meet.
