Kunsthal Rotterdam
Kunsthal Rotterdam is known for its dynamic and surprising programme, suitable for a wide audience. From design to fashion, photography and paintings: that and more is covered in the exhibitions.
Architectural museum building
Kunsthal Rotterdam opened in 1992 on the Westzeedijk, in a unique museum building designed by architect Rem Koolhaas. With more than 3,300 square meters of exhibition space, divided over seven rooms, visitors are always surprised by a dynamic program. All kinds of disciplines are covered in the changing exhibitions, of which several are always on display at the same time. From design to fashion, photography and paintings.
Other activities
In addition to an extensive program of changing exhibitions, you can also regularly visit cultural events in the Kunsthal. Think of Friday Night Live, where a Rotterdam party takes over the museum for one Friday evening. Start the weekend with music, performances, art and a drink. Or visit an exhibition with a celebrity during KunstKoppels. Children can also go to the Kunsthal for a drawing or reading afternoon, for example.
Auditorium, café and shop
Kunsthal Rotterdam has a light auditorium, with familiar coloured plastic design chairs, where lectures and masterclasses are regularly held. On the ground floor you will find the Kunsthalcafé, where you can go for a cup of coffee, lunch or a drink. In the Kunsthalwinkel you will find all kinds of products and books that match a specific exhibition. And also Rotterdam design and souvenirs.
