Inside the Depot

The depot holds the full collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, alongside selected private and corporate collections. Inside, fourteen climate-controlled storage rooms are adapted to different materials, including paintings, metals and photographic works. Temperature and humidity remain carefully balanced to protect each object.

Visitors explore the building via staircases, walkways and a central lift, with views into storage spaces from multiple angles. Guided tours provide additional context and access to selected areas.

A Collection in Full View

The museum’s collection has developed since the mid-19th century and now includes more than 155,000 works. For many years, only a small part was visible to the public. The depot brings this extensive collection together in one place, offering a more complete understanding of its scale and diversity.

Dining and Events Above the City at Renilde

At rooftop level, restaurant Renilde functions as a café during the day and a dining venue in the evening. Large windows open onto wide views across Rotterdam, while the surrounding roof garden features trees and planted areas.
