Visit the depot for free during Open Day Depot 2024

On Saturday 21 September, the doors of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen's Depot will swing open again for anyone who wants to come and take a look. The annual Open Day Depot is free to enter and offers guided tours, workshops, special programming and, of course, the current collection presentation Lievelingen will be on display. Restaurant Renilde and the roof terrace will also be open.

Workshops and guided tours

There are workshops telling all about the practice of a museum depot: collecting, storing and packing art. Take a look at the collection and take a guided tour through the building, explaining all about the architecture and interpretation of the Depot. Or go on speed dating with a Darling on the roof terrace. Of course, there is also plenty of art to see: the Depot has hundreds of collection pieces on display every day.

Darlings

The major presentation Darlings & Darlings XL is open during Open Day Depot. More than 100 much-loved works from the Boijmans collection are on display. Think paintings by Bosch, DalĂ, Morisot, Rembrandt, Rothko, Toorop and many more. Kusama's mirror room is open and Suzan Drummen's special colourful floor on the top floor has been renewed.

The Depot will be open from 11am to 5pm during the Open Day. You do not need to book a time slot and there is no maximum number of visitors. Check Boijmans' website for more information.
