This is the programme for Museumnacht010
With exhibitions, performances, workshops and parties, over 30 museums, art institutions and galleries will show what the city has to offer culturally during Museumnacht010. The full programme for Saturday 7 March is now known. The participating venues will pay tribute to women, meeting and connecting. Tickets are now available via this link.
In addition to their regular exhibitions, all participating venues develop a special programme for Museum Night010. Artists, curators and curators will be on hand at every corner to offer visitors context, give workshops or take them on a tour of their knowledge.
The 2026 programme will, more than ever, create an evening that stands for connection. Consequently, for Museum Night010, many venues are looking to collaborate with other organisations in the city.
Museum Night010 is not only about visitors meeting art, but also about meeting each other. At Fenix there is a clay workshop by Efrat Zehavi, modelling a stranger in a speed dating setting. At the World Museum, Stitch & Bitch brings people together around knitting and exchanging stories.
At Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen, a collective artwork is created as part of exhibition Beyond Surrealism, with each visitor adding a piece, and at Art Institute Melly, museum-goers write a story together, one word at a time, to accompany donna Kukama's exhibition I Breathe, You Breathe.
There is multispecies karaoke at the Natural History Museum, the clandestine Kuypers Kansino at the Tax & Customs Museum and live performances in collaboration with Hiphop In Je Smoel at the Kunsthal. The New Institute is all about fungi, where exhibition FUNGI. Anarchist Designers is the starting point for performances, DJ sets and the invitation to help build a living glow-in-the-dark artwork.
Ode to women
During Museumnacht010 2026, several participating locations will put women in the spotlight. Even well before the clock strikes midnight, and International Women's Day dawns, this theme will be felt throughout Rotterdam.
Wereldmuseum Rotterdam presents museum-wide programme Art She Crafted, an evening focusing on female creators with performances by STRIPTOPA and musical interpretation by Kult Function and rosetta. At WORM, it's all about Fem Fest: an annual tribute to feminist struggle and solidarity including AV installation Sparks of Resistance and performance with workshop by Draga Dina.
At MIES, the emancipatory ideas of pioneer Mies Lanen are brought to life in a theatrical performance by Studio de Bakkerij, while PrintRoom questions taboos around femininity and the body with its Reading My Panties workshop. The Maritime Museum also puts (maritime) women from the past and present in the spotlight and, at the stroke of midnight, jointly celebrates International Women's Day on the dance floor.
Rotterdam ambassadors
The ambassadors of the 2026 edition are five leading Rotterdam creators: designer Sabine Marcelis, artists Daan Koens and Marlou Fernanda, DJ Jewel and contemporary artist Erik Peters. As image-makers inside and outside the museum walls, they will give direction to the night with their own route and show how beautiful and rich the Rotterdam art scene is.
