Every month, Rotterdammertjes tests a cultural outing. This time it is Marines on Mission at the Marine Museum.
What does Marines on Mission involve?
'At the Marine Museum, you can experience for yourself what it is like to be a marine. You choose one of three missions that you and your team have to bring to success.'
How did your mission take off?
'We were met by a major who prepared us for a trek through the snow. It is important to read the assignment carefully beforehand and discuss with each other who takes on which task. You get all kinds of orders from the commander through your headphones. This goes at a fast pace, so good preparation can't hurt.'
What did you guys do after the mission?
'If you complete the mission, you can have a nice photo taken of your team. There is also a climbing course, you can shoot pirates or do a scavenger hunt in the museum's attic.'
Would you recommend this outing to others?
'We found the museum cool and varied. We would definitely recommend it to parents with children aged nine and above. Another tip: after your visit, grab a terrace in the Old Harbour. That makes for a cosy end to a successful outing!'
