American singer Montell Jordan is best known for the hit This Is How We Do It. He brought a fresh blend of soul and hip-hop to the charts in the 1990s. With more than 10 million records sold worldwide, his music remains influential to this day. On Tuesday 11 March, BIRD presents a concert by Montell Jordan at Annabel. Tickets are available now via this link.
"Montell Jordan symbolises an important era in R&B," says Guido van Dieren, programmer at BIRD. "With this concert, we want to present an artist who knows how to connect generations and remains relevant today. His music is of great value to lovers of R&B and beyond."
The concert is part of Montell Jordan's European tour and is one of his few performances in the Netherlands. This Is How We Do It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for weeks in 1995 and is still streamed worldwide. During the show at Annabel, Jordan will perform not only his best-known songs, but also a selection of material that highlights his influence on the R&B scene.
Montell Jordan broke through in 1995 with his debut album This Is How We Do It. His music is still sampled by contemporary artists such as Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Besides his career as an artist, Jordan has worked as a producer and songwriter for artists such as Deborah Cox and Christina Milian. His concerts are known for the energetic performance of his repertoire and his interaction with the audience.
