Isora explores new sounds from deep roots in Spanish poetry and folk, with a unique mix of voice, wind instruments and electronics. An intimate and experimental journey where tradition and improvisation come together.
Isora means “seeing the roots from above” — a metaphor for making music with an eye for origins and innovation. From original compositions, inspired by Spanish poetry and folk music, a musical quest arises through improvisation and live experiment. With voice, oboe, trumpet, synthesizers and live electronics, Ainhoa Pérez Echepare and Álvaro Rey de Viñas create enchanting sound worlds. The Spanish language forms the heart of their expression and connects them with memories, traditions and imagination. Isora has previously performed at various locations and festivals in the Netherlands and Spain and is currently working on a first EP. Their performances are lively, layered experiences in which old roots take on new forms.
