Social City Walk

Practice your Dutch and meet other Rotterdammers. Walk through Rotterdam in small groups and strike up conversations with different people along the way.

Practice your Dutch with Rotterdammers

During the Social City Walk, you practice the Dutch language and meet other Rotterdammers. The event is for anyone who wants to speak Dutch better. Rotterdammers who would like to help are also very welcome. Walk 5 kilometers through the city and strike up a conversation with other people.

Program of the walk

You will gather between 18:45 and 19:15. The walk starts at 19:15 and lasts until 21:00. At the start of the walk, we will divide everyone into groups of 10 to 16 people. You will talk in pairs. During the walk, you will switch conversation partners. Talk about topics that you find interesting. This way, the talking will flow naturally. Along the way, you will have a coffee break with music. Bringing an umbrella is a good idea.

About the organization

The Walking & Talking Foundation started in 2019. Founders Annelies Maris and Masha Neeteson-Nikolaeva help adult second language learners find their place in society. The foundation connects people in Rotterdam with each other. This contributes to equal opportunities for everyone in the city.
