Sam Eley
Sam Eley is Basil Crumbwick: Soul Sewage – live at Comedy Club Haug, Rotterdam
Edinburgh's favorite terrible guy is coming to Rotterdam! On Friday, November 20, 2026, the British, multi-award-winning comedian Sam Eley brings his character Basil Crumbwick to the Main Room of Comedy Club Haug, as part of Shtick Fest.
Basil has a giant papier-mâché head, bloodshot eyes, and very outspoken opinions. He hates his neighbor Beverley. He desperately wants to be friends with the garbage man. And he has written a self-help book that no one asked for. An hour of dark, absurd character comedy, with more jokes per minute than seems physically possible.
Soul Sewage was one of the big hits of the Edinburgh Fringe 2026. The show won Best Newcomer at the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards and the NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy. Chortle gave it five stars and compared Basil to Vic Reeves and Alan Partridge.
Don't miss this only chance to see Basil in the Netherlands, in the largest comedy club in the country, for only €19.50!
And yes, he performs the entire hour with that head on.
Please note: this show is in English.
