Who are we without others? Sometimes the gaze of another limits your identity. Yet you need the other to determine who you are. The other is therefore both a necessity and a burden. How do you deal with this?
Philosophical conversations in Rotterdam
During this Filosofie Avond you will discuss this. Experienced speakers will introduce thinkers such as Levinas, Fanon and Bataille. You do not need to read up in advance; at the beginning of the evening you will be brought up to speed. Afterwards, you will discuss questions in smaller groups. Everyone gets the chance to share their thoughts. There is no right or wrong answer. Try to explain why you do or do not find something to be true.
