In Out of the stillness we celebrate the creative versatility of NDT 1 with two exciting and distinct makers. We are reviving Gabriela Carrizo’s The missing door (2013), a compelling work where dance and theatre merge in an ominous way. Hofesh Shechter is also back at NDT for a world premiere; his fourth creation for us.

Creative versatility at NDT 1

With Out of the stillness you will experience the creative versatility of NDT 1. You will see two different choreographic works. Hofesh Shechter is back with a new world premiere. This is his fourth piece for NDT. You can also re-experience the compelling The missing door by Gabriela Carrizo (2013). This work combines dance and theatre in an exciting way.

Hofesh Shechter: A bold world premiere

Hofesh Shechter presents a raw and bold world premiere. He is known for his work that explores the deeper emotions and thoughts of people. His piece explores the tension between identity, mind and body. The dancers push physical boundaries in this new work. Dreamlike scenes alternate with sudden moments of reality. This work promises a surreal journey full of physical surrender and pulsating music.

Gabriela Carrizo: A mysterious theatre piece

Rediscover the mysterious world of The missing door by Gabriela Carrizo. This piece from 2013 takes place in a domestic space that slowly changes. The boundaries between reality and fantasy blur. Everyday actions lead to oppressive situations, in which the characters' emotions become visible. Carrizo describes it as a ‘no man's land where reality and fantasy become intertwined’. It is a dramatic and gripping theatre experience.
