Opening Violette Cornelius herontdekt
On Thursday 19 November, the Nederlands Fotomuseum will open the new exhibition Violette Cornelius herontdekt.
Come to the opening night and be one of the first to see over 200 works by photographer and resistance fighter Violette Cornelius (1919-1998). A large part of her work remained hidden for decades and only came to light after the discovery of suitcases full of negatives, slides, prints and documents. The exhibition brings together her photography, personal documents and archival material and sheds new light on her life and work. The evening begins with a short welcome by Head of Collections Martijn van den Broek. Afterwards, curator Loes van Harrevelt will take you through the story behind Cornelius and her rediscovered work. The exhibition will be open from 19:15 and a DJ will be playing until 22:00.
