Opening kunstprojectie Doggerland – Portlantis

On Saturday, 31 October, you can experience the festive opening of Gathering Time at Portlantis, an impressive art projection by the English artist Matt Fratson. On the facade of Portlantis, the lost landscape of Doggerland comes to life, a prehistoric area that lay between the Netherlands and Great Britain thousands of years ago and eventually disappeared under the North Sea.

With digital reconstructions, archaeological finds, and special image fragments, Gathering Time takes visitors on a poetic journey through time, memory, and landscape. Beforehand, Hans Peeters (Resurfacing Doggerland) and artist Matt Fratson will give two lectures in English. Discover how art, archaeology, the history of the North Sea, and the Port of Rotterdam come together during this special evening by the sea.

The lectures and the opening screening are free to attend. After the opening, the art projection can be seen daily, up to and including 3 January 2027.

Tip: the restaurant will remain open especially for this opening evening. End the evening with a tasty à la carte dinner. Reservations are recommended.
