On Maasvlakte 2 stands Portlantis: the interactive experience centre about the port of Rotterdam. The futuristic building, designed by MVRDV, is worth a visit. It consists of five floors stacked on top of each other and has striking red stairs on the outer facade. Here you will discover how the port works, what it means for our daily lives and what the future of the port looks like. This journey of discovery includes augmented reality and labs where you can work on chemical experiments. You can also go on a spectacular tour of the entire port with models of ships, trains and trucks. 

Expedition time

Do you want the real deal? Then book an expedition with a guide who takes you beyond the fences into the port area. These expeditions can be done by bus, ship or on foot. You can also explore plenty things on and around Portlantis. The red stairs on the facade of the building give you access to the panorama deck with amazing views.
