O.Festival for Opera.Music.Theatre.

During O. we bring together makers and audiences from home and abroad. Every spring we create a festival with them on established stages and many unsuspected locations. The human voice is central and with that we touch the visitor right in the heart. We innovate opera, from and beyond traditions.

We do this based on the following three pillars:

Curious

We go on an adventure with makers and audiences - with new opera forms and stories that have never been told before. From home and abroad. We are open to all backgrounds and encourage debate and reflection. We dare to take risks, make cross-links and go off the beaten track.

Concerned

We open our doors - to (inter)national makers with an inquisitive mind who want to share their urgent story. For audiences who want to open their hearts to opera. We inspire and are inspired. We facilitate meetings between visitors, artists and programmers.

Boundless

We operate nationally and internationally - two approaches that reinforce each other. We use Rotterdam as a source of inspiration: our city with its own character, where more than 170 nationalities come together and strengthen each other. We are undogmatic, progressive and bring disciplines together. We don't shy away from any corner, from experimental to widely accessible.
