Noura Mint Seymali

Noura Mint Seymali - daughter of the legendary griot Dimi Mint Abba - surprises with her psychedelic and traditional blues, mixed with musical influences from her home country Mauritania. She and her husband and guitarist Jeiche Ould Chighaly come from a long line of griots (storytellers/poets/praise singers) and know how to combine that art with the melancholic beauty of the desert landscape of Mauritania.

Her first album Tzenni (2014) was labeled by the music press as one of the best African releases. The second album Arbina was released in 2016. In November 2024, Noura will go on tour to showcase the music from the new album that will be released at the end of this year. For lovers of desert blues, psychedelic rock, Tinariwen, Umm Kulthum and Captain Beefheart.
