Imagine a transformation so dramatic it reshapes your entire identity and sense of belonging.

In METAMORPHOSIS, Dizzi Geetha, who was born in Sri Lanka and adopted to the Netherlands, unpacks the complex, dark realities of adoption. Dizzi’s story reveals how a practice meant to help often ends up perpetuating human trafficking and exploitation. Dizzi challenges the notion of adoption as a noble act, inviting you to see beyond the surface. At its core, adoption touches on universal struggles we all face, whether or not we’ve been adopted.

METAMORPHOSIS is a biological process where an animal undergoes a significant change after birth or hatching. This often involves a noticeable and sometimes sudden shift in body structure due to cell division and growth. This idea of transformation and big change serves as a powerful metaphor for the profound changes that come with adoption. This performance dives deep into the often unseen side of adoption, an issue that’s been misunderstood and romanticized for too long.

Dizzi’s performance isn’t just about telling a story, it’s an invitation to confront and reflect on the painful truths of adoption and human trafficking. It's about exploring the real impact on the children and families involved and questioning the so-called "better life" that often feels like a lie. With a passion for music, theater, and Sri Lankan culture, Dizzi brings an electrifying and heartfelt performance that blends powerful music, visuals, and movement.

Don’t miss this eye-opening and transformative experience. METAMORPHOSIS is not just a performance; it’s a journey into the heart of adoption and attachment, revealing truths that are often overlooked. Be prepared to see ‘adoption’ in a new light and reflect on the deep connections that bind us all.
