Masterclass - Intimacy On Screen
What do sex scenes on screen say about who we are — and how we see each other? In this sharp, investigative masterclass, dramaturge Gwyneth Sleutel dissects the representation of sexuality, intimacy and consent in film and series.
Sex on screen: iconic, uncomfortable, tender or completely unbelievable — but what do you actually see? In this masterclass, dramaturge and writer Gwyneth Sleutel investigates how sexuality and intimacy are depicted in film and television. From Titanic to La Vie d'Adèle: who determines the perspective, what is told (or not), and what does that say about the time in which we live? Gwyneth zooms in not only on seduction and desire, but also on transgressive behavior and how consent is made (in)visible. With her experience at the NTR, the NPO Fund and as the creator of Het nieuwe flirten , she offers a sharp and inclusive perspective on a subject that concerns everyone. This masterclass is for creators, viewers and anyone who wonders how sex and power come together on screen — and what that does to us.
