Liefhebben Deel II Laura van Dolron
A warm, comforting evening, because love and grief are each other's best friends. It will be a collage of love stories, a resting place where we live instead of deliver, where we laugh through our tears, that is always love! Come and watch and sink a floor from your head to your heart!
For everyone who loves, and has ever lost someone. I overheard a conversation between three women; they were doing a writing workshop in a monastery. One of them was doing a lot of the talking, language was important to her. She said, “I am going to do a dance workshop for people who lost their child.” That was new information; I could hear it in the silence that fell. The woman bravely broke the silence and told us about the 6-year-old girl she lost. Then silence again. My heart broke in that silence. Why didn't anyone ask for the girl's name? Or about her favourite cuddly toy? Why didn't anyone give this mother the chance to bring her child to life for a moment in words?
I am making this performance for her! And for everyone who knows what love is, or loss. I am a mother myself who once lost a small child. I made Liefhebben to comfort myself. For ten years now, I have performed it once a year as a monument to love and the people we miss. Time for part II. Because I found so many new examples of love, because we all walk around with tears that long to fall.
