L'amour ouf - Moederdag Film&Ontbijt

The French box office hit L'amour ouf is an epic cocktail of nostalgia, love and violence. Director Gilles Lellouche (Le grand bain) brings together a French star cast for a raw, romantic fairy tale set in the 80s and 90s. Inspired by Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino and West Side Story, Lellouche gives the Romeo and Juliet story a modern twist. In L'amour ouf we see teenage love blossom between outsider Jackie and rebellious Clotaire. Their relationship is put to the test when Clotaire chooses the wrong path. When he ends up in prison due to gang violence, they lose sight of each other. Years later, Clotaire tries to get his life back on track and goes in search of Jackie. Can love conquer all? L'amour ouf was in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and received no fewer than 13 nominations at the César Awards. Young talents Mallory Wanecque and Malik Frikah impress as the doomed teenagers. The adult versions of Clotaire and Jackie are played by François Civil (Retour en Bourgogne) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (La Vie d'Adèle).
