L'amour ouf

Lellouche found inspiration in Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino and West Side Story and gives a modern twist to the Romeo and Juliet story. In L'amour ouf we see the teenage love blossom between the outsider Jackie and the rebellious Clotaire. Their relationship is put to the test when Clotaire chooses the wrong path. When he ends up in prison due to gang violence, they lose sight of each other. Years later, Clotaire tries to get his life back on track and goes in search of Jackie. Can love conquer all?

L'amour ouf competed at the Cannes Film Festival and received 13 César Award nominations. Young talents Mallory Wanecque and Malik Frikah impress as the doomed teenagers. The adult versions of Clotaire and Jackie are played by François Civil (Retour en Bourgogne) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (La Vie d'Adèle).
