She is six years old, has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was baptised in the village church, watches films in Turkish and wants to become a Muslim when she grows up. Who is she? And who is her father?
In KAMELEON, Sadettin Kırmızıyüz tells with humour how people adapt to their environment. At home he is the good Turkish son, on stage the conscious migrant and on TV the calm Dutchman. For years he saw that as his strength.
But because of his daughter, everything changes. Her white skin makes the world see him differently: at the playground, on the street, with the police. From ‘that Turkish man’ he becomes ‘just a father’.
