Three jazz concerts celebrate freedom with music that both soothes and makes you dance. From Brazilian sounds to Arabic-jazz fusion and swinging hard bop – this is Liberation Day in jazz form.
A special jazz program will focus on both the joy and the pain of Liberation Day. Jazz, with its combination of melancholy and vitality, perfectly reflects the layered meaning of this day. SOL-MUSIC opens with warm Brazilian influences, the Zaatar Quintet mixes Arabic traditions with jazz, and Art of the Messengers brings a swinging tribute to the hard bop of Art Blakey. Each performance tells its own story about freedom, loss and resistance. A musical journey that touches, connects and invites reflection and celebration.
