Japanse krijgskunsten - workshop 4 kids - expositie - unieke demonstraties

Japanese martial arts have captured the imagination of the West for hundreds of years, but few understand their history, philosophy, techniques and applications. In a clinic, (young) children can get acquainted with Goju Ryu karate from 13:00. In the reception area, you can admire authentic and antique Japanese weapons. From 14:00, a number of unique demonstrations of modern martial arts such as judo, jujutsu, aikido, karate, iaido, jodo, kendo and naginata will take place. Then, 3 older martial arts will be demonstrated: Kashima Shin Ryu, Yagyu Shinkage Ryu and Owari Kan Ryu. In addition to the short and long sword, the yari, ōdachi, jizaiken, naginata, hachiwara and other weapons are used. The event is free of charge and is part of the 20th anniversary programme of the Japanese cultural centre Shōfūkan in Rotterdam.
