On the occasion of the world premiere of On Shaky Ground, a film by La-di-da Architecten about the potential of wooden foundations, IABR is organizing a discussion on the relationship between soil, ecology, and the future of building with natural materials. Shaky Ground: Every year, one million concrete piles are driven into the ground. They have completely replaced the centuries-old tradition of using spruce logs as foundations for buildings in the Dutch delta. Now that the construction industry is coming under increasing pressure to take the environment into account, this old tradition opens up new possibilities.
