Sofia and her mother Rose spend the summer in the Spanish coastal town of Almería, where Rose is treated by the charming doctor Gómez for the inexplicable physical complaints that have confined her to a wheelchair. During their stay under the sultry Spanish sun, Sofia is hypnotized by the allure of the free-spirited Ingrid. As the temperature rises and Sofia begins to feel more confident, the bond between her and her mother becomes increasingly fragile...

Based on the book of the same name by Deborah Levy, Hot Milk explores the complex dynamics of identity, desire, dependency, and the search for liberation. The cast includes Emma Mackey (Emily, Sex Education), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), and Vicky Krieps (Corsage, Phantom Thread). Hot Milk marks the directorial debut of Rebecca Lenkiewicz, whose screenplays include The Salt Path, Ida, Disobedience, and She Said. The film premiered in competition at the Berlin Film Festival.
