HA Jana Jacuka
In "HA", Jana Jacuka explores how we react when our boundaries are crossed. This solo performance at Theater Rotterdam uses laughter as a way to cope with this and the voice as a choreographic instrument.
About the performance
In everyday situations, our boundaries are often crossed. We don't always know how to react. "HA" explores the role of laughter as a way to escape or react in such moments.
The voice as an instrument
Jana Jacuka's solo work focuses on the pure elements of a performance. She invites the audience to undergo an intense experience of vocal expressions. "HA" explores the voice as an instrument for choreography, using sounds such as growling, screaming, and inhaling speech to communicate beyond just words.
What to expect
The performance is raw and direct. Without many distractions on stage, only the space, Jana Jacuka, and the audience are present. This creates an intimate experience in which the voice plays the leading role as an extension of the body.
