GROND is a brave new musical about grief – confrontational, comforting and surprisingly light in tone. When young Ally suddenly loses her mother, she finds herself in a disorganized world full of condolence cards, service desks for relatives and oak veneer.

Nothing she has learned helps her come to grips with her loss. Is there no manual? No step-by-step plan? She finds support from an eccentric mortician with hare-teeth, who shows her the way in this postmortem dream world.

GROND shows what it feels like when everything changes – and how even in the dark there can be room for wonder, connection and even humor. A musical experience that puts its finger on what we often prefer to avoid: grief in all its raw, disruptive and human forms.
