The Scottish band Fright Years makes pop/rock in which vulnerability and grand gestures go hand in hand. The foursome from Edinburgh draws inspiration from the emotional alt-rock of the 90s, post-punk and new wave from the 80s, and modern indie. Think of Wolf Alice, Florence + The Machine, and The Last Dinner Party, with compelling melodies, big choruses, and a healthy dose of drama. With the powerful voice of Jules Kelly as the centerpiece, Fright Years switches effortlessly between small and vulnerable and exuberant and compelling. On April 12, the band will be at Rotown.
