Friday Night LIVE

Discover Friday Night LIVE at the Kunsthal

Start your weekend at the Kunsthal with Friday Night LIVE. Every third Friday of the month, you can enjoy drinks and bites, music, performances, and an inspiring programme featuring art. All exhibitions are open until 22:00. This edition, Theater Rotterdam is providing the programme. A central collaboration between the Kunsthal and Theater Rotterdam is at the heart of the event. Listen to the beats of DJ Lovesupreme in the Kunsthal Cafe, attend an artist talk with theatre maker and choreographer Alida Dors, or be surprised by a dance performance by Junadry Leocaria. You can also listen to a lecture by Selçuk Balamir. Prepare for the exhibition ‘(Sur)render’ in HAL 4 at the Kunsthal with the sensory introduction ‘Come to Your Senses’.

Delve into art and culture

The exhibition ‘(Sur)render’ is an experiment by Kunsthal Rotterdam and Theater Rotterdam. This successful performance by Alida Dors is becoming an immersive exhibition. You will not only experience the themes as a spectator, but become part of them yourself. In addition to this experience, there are other inspiring exhibitions. For example, you can delve into the influence of disco, a musical movement that focused on freedom, inclusivity, and self-expression, similar to the upcoming exhibition ‘DISCO’ at the Wereldmuseum Amsterdam. Or discover the work of artists such as James McNeill Whistler, a painter and printmaker, who is honoured in ‘Whistler. Dandy en dwarsdenker’ at the Van Gogh Museum, available from 16 October 2026.
