Friday Night LIVE

Kick off your weekend at the Kunsthal with Friday Night LIVE! Every third Friday of the month, you can visit the Kunsthal for food & drinks, music & performances, and a generous dose of art. Each edition features a different Rotterdam partner. On Friday, October 17th, Camera Japan will be in charge!

Camera Japan is a cultural festival held annually in Rotterdam since 2006. While the focus is on Japanese film, the festival also explores visual arts, music, dance, fashion, architecture, food, and much more. Every autumn, Camera Japan showcases the best, strangest, and most unexpected that Japanese cinema has to offer!

Bites and drinks

The Kunsthal Café serves Friday Night Bites. If you come to the Kunsthal between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM with your Friday Night LIVE ticket, you'll receive a free welcome drink (wine, beer, or soft drink)!

About the exhibition CUTE

Why do we melt at the sight of a baby's face, linger over videos of fluffy kittens, and communicate en masse through emojis? Discover the seductive and sometimes confusing world of CUTE at the Kunsthal, an exhibition that reveals how cuteness both conquers and disrupts the world. In an age of rapid online stimuli, being cute is not only appealing but also a powerful tool for manipulation, comfort, or challenge. Dance to sugary beats in the Hello Kitty disco, transform into an anime character in the Glimmer installation, or dress up digital monsters in the game arcade. From Japanese kawaii to funny memes and futuristic design: CUTE immerses you in an ultra-cute and multi-layered experience.
