Forgotten Crafts - Cyanotype printing 4
During this 4-week workshop series, we experiment with making our own cyanotype prints on paper.
During this 4-week workshop series, we will experiment with making our own cyanotype prints on paper. Cyanotype is a simple, playful, and accessible technique that requires no prior knowledge. It is ideal for experimenting and trying things out, and the results are always surprising and inspiring.
We begin each session by coating our paper with cyanotype emulsion. Then, we take a quiet walk around Dokhuis to consciously collect elements for our compositions from our surroundings—leaves, flowers, feathers, pebbles. Feel free to bring items you already have at home that you would like to add to your prints! After carefully arranging the collected elements on the paper, we expose the prints to UV light and rinse them with water. The composition takes on a beautiful, dark blue color, while the initially covered areas remain white.
The workshops are primarily conducted in English, with clear instructions and a simple Dutch translation. Each session lasts 2 hours and is led by Raluca Croitoru.
Participation is free and registration is required. If you choose to purchase a donation ticket, you support Dokhuis and help us keep other events free as well.
