Darwin called humor a form of aggression, a way to exert dominance over the 'victims' of the joke. That aligns with the humor Elfie grew up with. Mocking, hurting, everything was permitted for a 'good' joke. During her puberty, Tromp lost her laughter for the humorists in her environment, with the increasingly pressing question: but what are you actually laughing at?

The performance is on the one hand a cabaret show, on the other hand an investigation into humor and its impact. Tromp tests various propositions and how you can use humor to become the one who laughs last.
